Remember awhile back I asked you to vote for my photos for inclusion in JPG Magazine? Thank you, one of them was accepted and is in issue 7, which is out now and their first wide-distribution issue so available at chains and the like. If you like pretty pictures and are interested in subscribing, they sent contributors a special discount code to share, it's just $15 for an annual subscription [6 issues] instead of $25. Good deal there.
My conundrum: I just received my $100 check for the shot [I know, life's hard] and am trying to figure out what to do with it. I'm tempted to frame it as being paid for taking a picture totally blows my mind, but obviously, it's photography fun money from me to me! and should be spent accordingly instead of being thrown into the usual bill-daughter-bill-daughter abyss. Any suggestions? [My birthday is Saturday, so I might pass it on to Chad to add to the present kitty, so it's not strictly limited to $100, but don't go nuts.]
And if you need something else to do: I submitted some photos for the next edition, and if you like them, I'd appreciate a positive vote for them. Or you can click around and see some other bang-up shots and vote for them instead. Or you can vote no on every single photo on there, art's subjective like that. These are mine:
Intimate
Tourist
Embrace the Blur
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live? Why?

I'm going to stay right here in Alameda
1. DESTROY THE EARTHQUAKES SMASH SMASH
2. Disperse half the population to the reddest corners of the country to make the congestion more bearable here and the politics moreso there.
3. I was going to say raising the summer average temperature by about 5° but global warming seems to be taking care of that.
Or I'll take one of those deep-South Pacific wonderlands.
This post sponsored by voting no on 6, 43, and 85. And a big hearty yes-yes for 87.
Did you dress up today? See any good costumes?
I'm still figuring mine out -- as usual, everyone else comes first. I just finished sewing a Pocahontas dress for D'arby [yes, the Disney one, I know, I know] and converted some ugly polyester pants and a tiny women's early-90s jacket into some mariachi magic for Chad -- I think I did a good job, though it helps him being so darn fine.
Best I've seen and not made are George's Witless Who?-ston [oh. my. god.]
and the mucha lucha chihuahuas we saw Sunday
